What are the common dumpster sizes and which size is the right one for me?
Dumpsters are measured by the number of cubic yards the container will hold. Therefore, a 10-yard dumpster will hold 10-cubic yards of waste material. The typical dumpster sizes are 10-yards, 20-yards, 30-yards, and 40-yards. Estimating the amount of debris a project will generate can be tricky, so give us a call and we can help you estimate the best size for your project.
Are there any types of waste that are prohibited from being deposited in my roll-off rental container?
There are some items we cannot accept in our dumpsters. These include any items containing hazardous chemicals or other items that can cause damage to the container or landfill. Please see below for the full list of prohibited items:
Hazardous Materials, Medical Waste, Tires, Appliances, Televisions, Wet Paint, Asbestos, Batteries, Oils, Gasoline, Railroad Ties
Note that this list may not contain all of the prohibited items, but this is generally most of them. If you’re unsure about an item, please give us a call at (951) 456-4800, and we can provide you with the proper guidance.
How do I know if I am loading the dumpster properly?
All debris and material should be placed inside the walls of the container. Do not leave anything hanging over the sides or rising above the top of the dumpster. This could delay your waste pick-up and cause a dry-run because drivers cannot haul overloaded dumpsters.
What is the weight allowance of my dumpster?
Most landfills have a specific weight limit for roll-off dumpsters that will result in overage charges if it is exceeded. These limits can vary from site to site, and it is important to understand weight limits prior to confirming your dumpster rental. If you do not know how much your materials weigh, then you will need to rent a higher capacity dumpster, just to be safe.
When exactly will the dumpster be dropped off?
It is a relatively standard practice in the waste removal industry to only provide a delivery day for customers. If you need a dumpster at a specific time, the best way to ensure it’s there when you need it is to get the container delivered the day before. Generally speaking, the schedule is determined on a daily basis, which is less than ideal for customers. Just remember to be patient and find out the company’s delivery policy prior to renting a dumpster.
Do I need to schedule a pick-up when the dumpster is full?
Some dumpster rental services require customers to schedule the pick-up. To Speedy, this is not to implement any additional fees, but rather to give you an opportunity to remove all of your waste materials. Just call us as soon as you know that the entire roll off is full, and we’ll come and pick it up!
Will I automatically be charged if I exceed the weight limit?
If the overage fee is under $100, the fee will automatically be charged to the card used to secure your rental. If the overage is more than $100, we will give you a call to alert you of the overage before processing. Either way you will receive an invoice and receipt for the transaction for your records. If you are not comfortable with this aspect, call us and we can work with you so that you feel secure in your patronage.
